GoPro is proud to be the premium sponsor and official camera of the 2012 APEV with Monster Sport Pikes Peak EV Challenge Team

Akihabara, Tokyo, March 27th – Coming off a historic and record-breaking win in the 2011, Nobuhiro “Monster” Tajima is back and ready for the 2012 Pikes Peak Challenge and GoPro is honored to be onboard. This year will mark a new milestone for Monster as he will race in an electric vehicle.

2012 Team APEV with Monster Sport Pikes Peak EV Challenge

With the preservation of the environment and a goal of a sustainable society at heart, APEV (Chairman Soichiro Fukutake) organized the Pikes Peak EV Challenge Committee to take on the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb challenge, as “Team APEV with Monster Sports” slated for July 8 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Environmental issues, like global warming, are becoming an increasingly bigger concern. In order to contribute to a solution, many people around the world are beginning to focus on high performance EV (Electric Vehicle) technology. This year, we will bring the latest Japanese EV technology. One of the team’s main goals is to inspire people around the globe to consider EV technology, by conquering the great Rocky Mountain in Colorado Springs and winning the race.

Additionally, the team aims to contribute and partake in the following:

1.Environmental Projects

2. EV education for youth

3. Educate the “adult”, driving, population on EV technology

4. Provide aid to the tsunami disaster victims of Touhoku, Japan
